Window treatments provide the perfect finishing touch to any room. Besides serving an important function by providing privacy, light control and temperature control, they appeal to a room’s aesthetic. The term window treatment can refer to blinds and shutters, drapery, valances, cornices and roman shades. At Window Works Studio, we design, fabricate and install all types of custom window treatments to meet your specific need for function and style. We also work with various vendors to offer excellent quality blinds and shutters. These include Hunter Douglas, Graber, Somfy and more.

Custom Shutters

The most common type of window treatment found in homes are blinds. Often, people use the term “blind” or “plantation blind” to refer to almost any type of window treatment. However, a blind is a horizontal stat treatment. The slats tilt open/close and the entire blind can be raised up to the top of the window. The slats come in ½” to 2-½” widths. Blinds are relatively inexpensive and are made of vinyl, composite wood or hardwood. Though they are attractive, the primary function is for providing privacy. They serve as a great base layer that will coordinate with any other type of window treatment, such as drapery and valances.

Shutters are a larger investment and is thought of as a permanent fixture in the home. Shutters have panels that open and close like a door and louvers that tilt open/close. They can be made of vinyl (great for bathrooms), composite wood and hardwood. They can be painted or stained. Shutters look great as the only window treatment on the window, but also work well with drapery.

Shades can be in the form of roman shades that are made from any type of drapery fabric. We make this in our Jamestown studio. Or, they can be shadings such as woven wood shades, cellular shades, roller shades and sheer shades. We represent several companies that specialize in the development and manufacturing of these types of shades. Hunter Douglas, Graber, Comfortex and Somfy are a few companies we work with.

TESTIMONIALS

Slide1 We chose to work with Window Works Studio because we wanted the perfect window treatments for our new custom home. After seeing the house finished, we were surprised to find that our original plan for plantation shutters were not the best option for the space. We had no idea about all of the window treatment options that were available.

We called a couple of places but found their associates were overwhelmingly pushy or less than helpful. Amy struck a very good balance.

She was extremely helpful and informative but did not overwhelm us with choices. She was always available for questions and never pushy with a sale, in fact she was very flexible working with us to complete the project in phases. She was empathetic about our design conundrum and helped us find the perfect option. We ultimately decided on the Hunter Douglas Silhouettes shades which maximized our lovely scenic views while still maintaining a classic, elegant look inside our home. We couldn’t be more pleased with the results

Slide1 Being you took the time to call after leaving contact information at the home show was the start. After meeting you for the first time , we found you very attentive to our desires and needs. Understanding that what we wanted was expensive, we were concerned with the cost and you created the best solution with cost in mind.

Your design complimented our whole room.Your installer was top notch, very clean work and very professional.

Then to top it off, the customer service you showed with the minor issue we had was fantastic. Your company is great and we certainly do recommend you

Slide1 I chose Window Works Studio, Inc. for the window treatments in my home because of the personal service.

I loved that someone came out to my house, discussed all my options, measured everything and had a quote to me with a couple of days.

Delivery and installation was taken care with no problems. When I had a problem with one of the shades on my screened porch the resolution of the problem was swift and professional. I have and will continue to recommend Window Works Studio, Inc.

Slide1 After several years of working with your company, I feel I can always depend on excellent design ideas, professionalism, quick turn around and great installation.

You’ve helped me choose colors and get samples whenever possible and your staff is talented and easy to work with.

For my next redecorating project, I will not hesitate to call Window Works Studio

Slide1 My husband initially found your company when researching local Hunter Douglas dealers online due to some that were sagging in the center. The company I initially bought them from was no longer handling the brand and you graciously handled my problem in fulfilling their warranty. We had been looking for a new window treatment after changing out the sofa and oriental rug, changing the color scheme in the room. I had previously visited a few potential suppliers and did not find anything suitable in design.

Quite frankly, you were a pleasure to work with in quickly coming up with something I liked and fulfilling the item at a reasonable price and time frame
